Thomas Cook UK fly information to their overseas staff
SORCE client Thomas Cook UK have given their overseas workers access to the organisation’s intranet ‘Tom Tom’.
Thomas Cook UK’s overseas staff can log into the site enabling them to view valuable corporate information relevant to their location.
Previously, they provided access to their intranet for UK staff only, with communications to overseas workers sent out by email. The organisation wanted to create a more inclusive environment for their 4,000 overseas workers.
Katie Glindon Corporate Intranet Coordinator at Thomas Cook UK said “Overseas workers such as our Tour Operators play a vital role in the success of our organisation. We wanted to to include these staff in group communications without compromising their specific needs”.
Working with SORCE, Katie and her team created a home page that was personalised to the needs of their overseas workers. This means they can now access relevant local news as well as information that affects the organisation as a whole.
Katie Glindon said “We now have an intranet that meets the needs of all our staff whether they are based in the UK or overseas. Our overseas staff now have a more personalised experience, meaning they can get straight to the information that directly affects them.”
