All systems go for the Royal Institute of British Architects

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) are celebrating the launch of their new intranet, which went live at the beginning of March.

As the governing body for architects in Britain, they play a considerable role in helping improve the design quality of new homes and public buildings. They also provide a valuable information resource for all architecture related matters.

With the organisation undergoing a restructure, RIBA were looking to quickly resolve existing business issues such as document sharing. An additional requirement for their chosen product was that it offered the flexibility to change with their business needs. It was also imperative their new business tool could be deployed within a matter of weeks.

Mark Underdown, Intranet Consultant for SORCE said “When we first met with RIBA in 2011 they had a very specific set of requirements. After quickly implementing a solution that fits their current needs, we also showed them the longer term possibilities.”

RIBA’s newly launched intranet features applications which will help to increase staff productivity such as the sharing of documentation across the business.

Steve Smith MBE, Head of ICT at RIBA said “We’re really pleased with the business tool SORCE have provided us with. We’ve already done a demo to senior members of staff and they’re very excited about the possibilities SORCE can offer us.”
