Logistics UK’s previous intranet had not been updated for some time, so when it came to a refresh, the team responsible had a very clear vision.

Jacqui Kelly, Internal Communications Manager at Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK said, “With 6,500 employees based in 67 locations we wanted an intranet that would ultimately connect people across those sites – and to each other. It was also important that we built something which was going to make people’s jobs easier – change how they work and help them to be more productive. And, we felt that our solution should be easy to use and reflect the technology that people use in their everyday lives, outside of work – just like the internet.”

The team looked at various solutions and chose SORCE because they felt it had more flexibility than some of the ‘out of the box’ solutions in the marketplace.

The Contacts application has proved to be very popular with staff, making it far easier for staff to communicate with their European counterparts. Future plans for the organisation include using SORCE’s application development environment to adapt standard applications such as Article Publisher to fit their specific business needs.
