Oaklee Housing moves in to a SORCE Intranet
Formed in 1992, Oaklee Housing Association is a non-profit organisation providing over 4,500 homes across Northern Ireland. The association not only provides and manages quality social housing but also delivers care and support services to meet a wide range of needs. These include sheltered housing for older people, general family housing, mature singles and also people with special needs.
In its ongoing work to achieve its aim “to be the leading provider of customer focused housing and support services in Ireland”, Oaklee Housing Association decided to re-evaluate their existing intranet solution to see how it could deliver enhanced communication and business process improvements to their distributed workforce. With their existing intranet built in-house, it was becoming hard to update and expand to support their ambitious businesses objectives.
Seeking a solution that would be able to keep up with their innovative business demands, while quickly providing improvements for their distributed workforce, they surveyed the market. After engaging with several suppliers, Oaklee chose the feature rich SORCE intranet solution. SORCE was chosen for the strength of its readymade applications, such as Document Management, Image Library and Helpdesk, and also for the flexibility of customisation, the ability to integrate and it’s in inbuilt application development environment.
As a forward looking company, Oaklee plans to extend their intranet beyond just a communication tool. The intranet will be used as a centralised knowledge repository to bring together information by integrating with other existing data sources. Automating their existing manual business processes will also be another key function of their SORCE Intranet. Providing access for remote workers to all the information they need to do their job well, supports Oaklee’s mission to become the leading provider of customer focused housing and support services in Ireland.
