Unity College is one of the new schools in the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project in East Lancashire.

In 2010 students and staff will move to a state of the art learning environment on Towneley Holmes. The college will be one of the most modern, innovative and best equipped schools in the country and will undoubtedly be a very exciting environment in which to learn.

Unity College required an advanced intranet portal for their staff. After analysing several intranet products, SORCE was selected for its flexibility and rich functionality. Unity College have many exciting plans for the portal so it was important to select a proactive partner that was able to expand with the ambitions of the college.

The SORCE portal will provide many benefits both inside and outside the classroom. Among these are reduced paper usage, increased efficiency, wider access information and higher in speeds for delivering more diversified media.

The SORCE Document Management System will securely manage many types of documents such as manuals, training materials, forms, agendas, memos, and announcements, with built in version control the information will be constantly updated.
