SORCE achieves Record Growth by Helping Organisations through the Economic Downturn
For the third consecutive year SORCE has grown at over 30% in 2008. This maintains SORCE as the largest supplier of intranets to small and medium sized organisations within the United Kingdom.
Despite the global economic downturn, more organisations are turning to technology such as the SORCE Intranet, Extranet and Portal to help them deliver efficiency and control costs. Automating business processes through these tools has enabled organisations, both large and small, to save time (and money) by eliminating unnecessary manual tasks while increasing communication.
The strong growth has been across all SORCE’s vertical markets. Gaining many new clients within each sector has given us an expanded view of the complex requirements for different organisations. We have been able to benefit from the continual experience in each of our markets as well as the breadth of requirements from a wide range of business types and styles. From hospital intranets to financial extranets the SORCE products continue to provide organisations the ability to communicate, collaborate and innovate more effectively.
This has been highlighted by winning several major industry awards, Intranet Journals – Intranet Product of the Year and our inclusion on the EContent 100 (the 100 companies that matter the most in the digital content industry). While these awards reflect the value of our products in the market they don’t define our success. Our success comes from both our clients’ satisfaction with their choice of solution and the awards our clients have achieved over the previous year, for example the MoneyMarketing award in the financial sector and the Communication in Business award for West London Mental Health NHS Trust. We are proud that our products not only help reduce costs for these businesses but help deliver value throughout their organisations.
With the record growth we again experienced in 2008, the SORCE community has also expanded. In its sixth year the SORCE User Conference attracted its highest attendance yet, with over 120 delegates attending from over 80 different companies. The conference also provided an opportunity for our clients to meet other intranet, extranet and portal users and share with them ideas of how they used their systems to the advantage of their organisation.
2008 also saw more organisations move towards the ‘portalisation’ of their intranet, incorporating more personalisation, applications and integration with back office systems. With the economic downturn this move has been accelerated as organisations are encouraged to “work smart” and are focussing on maximising the use of their existing resources. This move has enabled organisations to ultimately provide a better (more efficient) service to both their staff and their clients.
