CIP Improves Hounslow Leisure and Culture with SORCE
CIP was created as a method of service delivery for local authorities. CIP operates within a charitable set of objectives to deliver a broad platform of accessible leisure and cultural opportunities for the London Borough of Hounslow. he services provided by CIP include management of parks, libraries, arts, events, leisure centres, museums, historic houses, community facilities, and tourism, as well as strategically planning for culture development in partnership with the Council.
CIP Group Limited is made up of four not-for-profit companies and has employees and partners working from a wide range of locations throughout the Borough of Hounslow and beyond. The organisation was seeking a solution to improve internal communication and provide their employees with a single, reliable source of information. The solution they selected was a SORCE Intranet portal.
According to John O’Grady, Web Development Manager at CIP, “As a an organisation we are very spread out with employees based in a large number of Hounslow’s leisure and cultural facilities and offices. It was proving hard to keep in touch and make everybody feel part of the CIP family. We could have looked to develop an Intranet in-house but found that the SORCE solution came with over 30 built-in applications that we could easily and quickly adapt to our needs.”
The SORCE Intranet Portal has been continuously developed over 5 years in response to the needs of customers in a wide variety of industry sectors. The solution is designed to adapt easily to the brand ‘look and feel’ of any customer organisation and the modular approach to applications means that customers such as CIP can select the ones they need to meet their particular communication and information sharing requirements.
John O’Grady added, “CIP’s implementation of a SORCE Intranet has enabled us to reach more of our employees with the latest information, implement applications such as a Contacts database to improve the productivity of our people and, most importantly, allowed us to have a regular dialogue with employees.”
John Nicklin, at SORCE, commented, “CIP is an ideal customer for a SORCE Intranet. Their need to connect employees in a number of disparate locations and roll-out applications that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations is exactly what a SORCE Intranet portal is designed to do.”
