Creative Briefs are like boundaries for designers, without them there's a fairly good chance you're not going to enjoy the result. Designers profile your customers, so they can better understand what they like, what they want to see, what they find appealing. All this information should come from the brief.

Where a company profile has been created in a brief, the likelihood of the design being more accurate is very high indeed. Often projects have continued on the path to layout and design without this information, not knowing who their customer internally is, their profile is important, the way they perceive design. Are 90% of your employees driving for a living, or working in warehouses? It can mean a different user experience. Its usually a costly exercise and often means delays and rework if not relevant!
