Professional Services Consultant

Do you have a technical background with good time management skills? If so, we need you!

We are the leading provider of intranet, extranet and portal solutions. We are currently looking for an individual to join our Professional Services Team.
Our technology powers the intranet and extranet solutions for hundreds of national and international organisations. Our clients cover a variety of sectors ranging including charities, housing associations and the public sector.

Working within our existing Professional Services Team, you will liaise with customers on a regular basis, including onsite visits, ensuring delivery of professional web based Intranets and Extranets.

Providing SORCE Professional Services, your responsibilities will include :

  • Requirements gathering
  • Specification writing
  • Application Development
  • Intranet/Extranet site development
  • Testing
  • Training
  • General consultancy

You will be expected to :

  • Liaise with customers on a regular basis,working onsite when required
  • Ensure correct procedures are followed at all times
  • Communicate ideas or suggestions for improvements within the team back to your manager
  • Communicate any potential issues to your manager immediately
  • Promote and encourage good practice within the team
  • Ensure high level of customer satisfaction and integrity in all work undertaken
  • Carry out tasks with care, diligence and skill
  • Maintain appropriate office conduct whether in our office or a client’s
  • Have a flexible approach and assist other departments within the business when required

As a successful candidate you will have a solid understanding of the following technologies :

  • ASP
  • Microsoft.net
  • Javascript
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • SQL
  • IIS
  • Windows Server operating systems
  • Basic Networking
  • SQL Reporting
  • VBScript
  • Browser technology and implications on our product (eg, compatibility, Security Models, rendering modes Webkit etc)
  • Web technologies and their effect on our product (eg, Ajax, Silverlight etc)

Other required attributes :

  • Good communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Good time management with the ability to prioritise work to meet your deadlines
  • A good understanding of the company’s product and services
  • Ability to travel to client sites as required to perform consultancy tasks

Remuneration

Support Services Consultant

Do you have a solid understanding of technology and excellent customer service skills? If so, we need you!

We are the leading provider of intranet, extranet and portal solutions. We are currently looking for an individual to join our Support Services Team.

Our technology powers the intranet and extranet solutions for hundreds of national and international organisations including EDF Energy, City Sprint and Ladbrokes to name but a few.

As a Support Services Consultant you will be working within our existing Support Team assisting end user clients to deliver support for their intranet/extranet solutions. You will resolve support requests effectively and efficiently within the guidelines of the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and be capable of problem solving under pressure.

Providing SORCE support services your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing customer support via the helpdesk system, email and telephone
  • Call queue management and prioritisation in adherence to SLAs
  • Remote issue identification and resolution
  • Server management for hosted customers

You will be expected to:

  • Ensure correct procedures are followed at all times
  • Alert your manager to spikes in call levels so additional resource can be assigned
  • Report methods of resolving common issues and trends back to your manager
  • Communicate any potential issues to your Manager immediately
  • Promote and encourage good practice within the team
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and integrity
  • Carry out tasks with care, diligence and skill
  • Maintain appropriate office conduct at all times
  • Have a flexible approach and assist other departments within the business when required
